Montreal consulate for K-1 Interview

Hi guys, I just joined this form and have been educating myself on the K-1 process. Haven't found an answer here yet... would like to know how long (how many months) it might take for an interview at the Montreal consulate after being approved from the NVC. Any insights will be much appreciated!

For K-1, NVC doesn't "approve" or "DQ" anything. It's just an intermediary between USCIS and the consulate.

Got it. Good to know! So how long would it take for the interview to happen? From when NVC notify the consulate?

Everything is backed up due to covid.   I'm guessing about a year after petition approval

wow is it really that long? So 6-8 months for the I-129F processed, then another year just to wait for the consulate for interview?  Sounds like timing for K-1 and CR-1 are kind of the same?

Based on today's data in many countries that is exactly what has happened.   Some countries k1s are not yet even interviewing and spouse visas are theoretically faster.
