Anyone here scheduled an interview appointment at the consulate in Frankfurt? All the requested documentation have been submitted and accepted in October but I haven't heard anything since. Currently I am stuck in Germany because of the travel ban and I can't travel. Are any of you guys having similar experiences?

We're waiting for an interview to be scheduled as well.  DQ'd on 5 Jan 2021 and received at Frankfurt consulate on 7 Jan 2021.  I emailed the Consulate on ~19 Jan asking if they could let me know when an interview would be scheduled and they provided the typical stock response.  I followed up w/ a couple other questions, one of which was about a notification I saw on the Consulate website regarding closure.  The Consulate responded with, "Please be advised that in light of recently re-imposed COVID-19 restrictions, we cannot schedule any interview appointments until further notice and have suspended processing of all new visa applications."

Who knows how long this will last, as Merkel recently extended lockdown until mid-Feb (14 Feb I believe) and there are already rumors that date will be extended....even though Germany's COVID numbers are dropping.  Does not make a lot of sense.

Hi everyone,

we are also waiting for our interview in Frankfurt (IR1). We got DQ on the 7th of December. Did you guys get an expedite email? We got one on the 7th of January, telling us that our case got expedited (even though we never requested one!). I assume that the consulate only does expedited cases right now. So maybe soon (and hopefully) you will also get an expedite email? Fingers crossed.

Yep, I got the expedite email.  My case is at the Consulate.  I was saying they told me they are not conducting interviews at this time due to recent Germany COVID restrictions.

Thanks for the info. What is your current state and are you in Germany or US?

I applied for the expedite process last week, let's see if that works out.

Good to know, thanks for that. This was what I heard too and that expedited processes are only accepted for caretakers physicians etc due to Covid. What is your current state?

Hi,

no. The consulate is currently closed due to the lockdown in germany. It was supposed to re-open beginning of April but presumably it won't with the extended lockdown.

For how long have you been waiting?

My husband sent a few mails to consulate in February and March and they never said that they're not working. They actually said that we should wait bcs they have more cases before ours. They even asked for new document and we provided it. So, where did you get that info that consulate is closed? It doesn't even say on their web page that they're closed.

I'm F2a DQ June 2020

I got this info from the consulate itself and the NVC. I think the confusion is that they are ONLY working for american citzens and hence only processing marriage or relatives related green cards. Mine is neither, it's an EB-1, which is employment based for extraordinary abilities. My application and all docs was approved in september 2020.

So I assume your husband is an american citizen and you are german? ..also, does that mean that you are in germany currently cannot travel to the US?

.. BTW what do you mean by DQ ?? 😁

While my application was approved in september the tracking says that the application is still at the NVC. The NVC itself says however the case is waiting for the interview appointment in Frankurt.. seems a little circular.
