Happy new year 🎈 everyone 😊

-is anybody awaiting spousal interview @ US consulate Frankfurt in January-February 2021? If yes, when were you DQ’d?

I understand Germany is under lockdown till Jan. 10th. Just wondering if there are people scheduled for interviews after that date.

Cheers!

Hi 😊

We applied for an IR1 visa in April 2020 (we have been married for more than 3 years and we have been living together in Germany). We got DQ on the 4th of December 2020 and got an "expedited" email on the 7th of January (we did not request an expedite). So now we are impatiently waiting for our interview appointment in Frankfurt, which could come every day now.

omg! All the best :) the interview letter could come any time this week--hopefully 🤞

I checked my status online and it says "Ready".

I will keep it posted.

Thank you, all the best to you too! The wait is so excruciating! Where did it say "Ready"? On the CEAC website it says "Your case is currently at Frankfurt". So I hope it will go quickly from now on. Do you know whether the interview appointment will come in a letter in the mail or as an email?

I used the above link to check the status. The sequence goes like this NVC> In transit (4 days; because mine was during the weekend)> Ready (this reached the consulate).

I think but not sure, they may contact the beneficiary through email or phone number. I highly doubt they will contact through regular mail.

Sending good vibes.

Thank you so much for this link. Mine is also "ready". Every day I run to my phone as soon as it makes a sound, just to realize that another unimportant email caused it 😄

Hi,

I am in a similar situation. Got DQ'd in November 2020 and I've been waiting for my interview date in Frankfurt since then. I managed to get some answers out of NVC/Frankfurt Consulate since then and here's what I was told:

"Please be advised that in light of recently re-imposed COVID-19 restrictions, we cannot schedule any interview appointments until further notice and have suspended processing of all new visa applications."

This is a direct quote from the Frankfurt Consulate General, received on January 21st. Since the lockdown was extended until February 14th the day before, I am hoping this is what they are referring to and scheduling will resume once the lockdown actually ends.

Thank you so much for your detailed input and sharing the info. I hope they start scheduling after Feb. 14. (Hopefully no more extension) 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Hi everyone,

just a little update. We got our interview appointment today for the 8th of February (IR1). But this might be because we fall under the exceptions in the presidential proclamation and had an expedited case. Not sure if your cases are similar. Upside it, the consulate is scheduling and conducting interviews during the lockdown!

If you do fall under the exception of the presidential proclamation AND your case is already at the consulate, I would advise writing them an email. They respond very quickly!
