Ive been stuck in France for health reasons. My Greencard is valid but the 1 year abroad Wass until nov 25th. I've heard that this is a bad idea trying to still take a plane and try to make it through customs, as there was a time some of my friends even months after, went through customs withtou any issues. Now as there is very few people entering the US the customs are supposedly way more strict. Anyone experienced it ?

@vee2020 Given COVID and the travel ban you can hope the immigration officer would sympathize. Remember they cannot revoke or take away your green card- only an immigration judge can do that. As a green card holder, you are free to enter the US anytime regardless of the travel ban

The travel ban did not apply to green card holders, so COVID is not an acceptable excuse not to return to the US.

If you can get on a plane to the US, then CBP will probably let you in.

The main problem is an airline letting you fly to the US when you've been out more than a year.
