I'm wondering about whether the officers are taking covid into account. We don't have wedding pictures or any proof of a reception because we didn't have one! I arrived in January and in March we just paid an online officiant and met him so we could get the marriage before everything was shut down. We had a plan to take part in an art marriage event but that obviously got cancelled. And then when my family were coming to visit in August we were going to have a family celebration, but obviously their tickets got cancelled. So no marriage event happened.

I'm going to bring proof of the event being cancelled, my family's tickets being cancelled but I'm wondering if anyone was in a similar position.

Also, due to covid, my husband has been unemployed which is another spanner in the works. I only got my employment authorization 2 days ago so not employed yet lol. We're fine for money (unemployment pay, my sponsor (MIL) is wealthy) but I want to know how important this is to officers.

Hey - we had our interview about a month ago; they are definitely taking Covid into account the officer did ask us only about travel and activities pre-Covid. The officer then asked us to confirm all the information in our I-485 form and even though we had a lot of pictures with us, the officer only looked at some from our honeymoon so "he could tell us if he recognized any of the places in Vegas", lol. They also didn't keep any pictures.
They did ask us for evidence of comingling - so we gave copies of our joint bank account, joint tax return, joint car insurance documents. And they asked for copies of our drivers licenses - with the same address - which we gave them. Overall, the officers are absolutely cognizant of the situation at hand with the pandemic - just take some pictures if you have them, of the both of you living your life - just in case! And, confirm that your MIL is able to provide for you during this time! You guys should be more than okay - good luck 😀

Thanks for this reply! It's very reassuring. Did you take a full copy of your 485 application and 864? I'm debating whether I need to because we only applied for the AOS in May so nothing in our financials/taxes etc has changed. For some reason we got the interview really quick.

In my experience, way back before covid i didn't had to bring copies of AOS form and 864. I only brought original documents of all things they ask to submit for I-485 and some pictures but the IO didnt even bother with it,just ask us a simple questions and done. He interview me and my husband separately. Our AOS  only took less than 3 months from filing to GC on hand.

But if you want to bring the I-485 and 864 copies it won't hurt anyone.

Goodluck

No worries - glad it helped!
And, no we did not take the full application forms, but we did take originals and copies of the documents we submitted as evidence alongside, such as birth certificates, marriage certificate, tax docs, and bank docs.
