I-944 Question About Health Insurance

On the I-944 where it ask about do you have health insurance, my wife and i do not have health insurance.

 

I dont believe in it, because it just another money making scam. If I do have to go to the doctor, I just pay out of pocket. I only go for simple things like dentist once a year. I am highly athletic, eat super healthy, and stronger than a horse...  Wife is the same as well.

 

I did the math and I save more money by not having health insurance.

 

That being said, I plan on paying for my wifes medical cost out of pocket. I make over 6 figures a year, so it's not like Im low income.

 

 

On the i-944, can my wife just check the NO box, and then write "husband will pay for my medical cost out of pocket"

 

Will that be okay? Will it result in denial or RFE?

i almost forgot.

 

I put a little money aside every month for "health emergencies". In case for that one day someone gets sick. I rather do this, than give those greedy health insurance companies my money..

You're taking a big chance in a couple of ways. Not having health insurance will be a "heavily weighted" negative against you. I would also caution you that putting "a little money aside every month" is not going to help you much if something serious or catastrophic happens. The costs can be astronomical. Most bankruptcies happen because of health care costs. Not being insured puts you at risk of becoming a public charge, which is the reason it's a negative.
