2-3 Year Wait Time For Citizenship?! Green Card Expires

I recently filed my n-400 and so of course I got anxious and started browsing the internet, where I learn my field office(atlanta) has a current huge wait time for applicants. My GC expires in 2 years and I thought I had more than enough time, didn't expect this at all. Will  I have to renew my GC whilst waiting for my application to go through or will they accept the expired GC? I really hope they're exaggerating with the wait time, what do you guys think?

Timelines from our members show that Atlanta is super fast. Between 3 and 7 months, despite COVID-19.

I didn't make an online account, I submitted by paper(scared to put sensitive info online). I checked via this site https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/home.

Your sensitive info is already "online", the account is only so you can access it and have additional information from USCIS.
