Lost Naturalization Certificate - Will a US Passport Work?

My naturalization interview is coming up, and one of the requirements is bringing my spouse's naturalization certificate - however, we can't seem to find it anywhere! We have his birth certificate, along with his parents' naturalization certificates (he got naturalized when he was a baby). Would we be able to bring his old and current passport? Does anyone have experience with this happening to them?

Probably passport will work, but call USCIS and ask them.

This may sound silly, but are you sure he had one? Because it’s fairly standard now ( although it might not have been then) that a minor child wouldn’t get a naturalization certificate unless the parents chose to file for one and pay a fee. A lot of people simply apply for a passport for their child to prove citizenship because that’s cheaper than filing N-600 or whatever it was then.

Ended up bringing my husband's birth certificate and his parents' naturalization certificates, along with his past 2 (and new) passport. Wasn't asked for any of that!
