hi guys

i have a question...my received my EAD card yesterday, 3 days after i received my greencard, now im confused, which one should i always use for employment, gc or ead? i see the validity of ead card, its for one year....now, do i have to renew my ead card before i expired even i already have a permanent resident card?

thanks in advance!

note: *the ead came from Lee's Summit, MO and they approved it first 3 days after they approved my gc.

*the gc came from CSC, so i guess the mail delay is in missouri. the ead should gotten here first before gc...

The green card cancels out the EAD. As a Permanent REsident, you do not need special work permission.

We received by e-mail the approval for the green card on Tuesday and today an email saying the EAD has resumed processing after reciept of RFE materials. Our AOS was in CSC and the EAD in MSC. Seems the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing.

24 March 2009 I-751 received by USCIS

27 March 2009 Check Cashed

30 March 2009 NOA received

8 April 2009 Biometric notice arrived by mail

24 April 2009 Biometrics scheduled

26 April 2009 Touched

...once again waiting

1 September 2009 (just over 5 months) Approved and card production ordered.

The Green-Card is work authorization and travel permission, so the EAD is no longer needed, wow a 3 day EAD card.

Is reason we did AOS and decided to wait and see about EAD, if it looks to be long on AOS we will file for EAD before July 29 when the fee goes up.

Congrats on the Green-Card!
