So, I'm thinking, maybe the husband can renew his PH passport, and they travel together? That's not the fastest option to get there but looks like that might be the only viable option they have right now.

She wants to go back to see her mother, husband don't want to go back anytime soon he told me last night.   Plus you got at least 14 day quarantine waiting on entry.

I have no clue. I have only been to Cebu about 5 times myself and it's been so long I have forgotten most of it. I hear they have tamed down Mango Square and got rid of many of the fun spots there.

I would not blame the husband (but that's another post lol)...but if its really important for his wife and it's the only viable option, surely he can do it for his wife. Actually, if you arrive in Manila, you get to be quarantined there for some days (i don't know how many exactly off the top of my head), only then are you permitted to travel to cebu city. upon arrival in cebu city, you also need to get quarantined again for x number of days, and only after can you continue on your journey to your hometown.

Has she used her mom's BC?  Her citizenship shod have come to her from her filipina mom, not her chinese born father

just saw on the news that foreign citizens holding long term visas will be allowed into the country from august 1. maybe your friend can apply for a long term visa instead?

Of course she has.  You would of thought trying to do the paper work in the USA would be easier but same of Philippines mentality and silliness. I guess if something is out of norm they can't do it and get all wound up.

 

Reminds me of the time I wanted a cheese pizza at a greenwich in Philippines. I was told "No Sir we are not allowed to make a pizza that is not on the menu". I told them to make me pepperoni pizza and hold the pepperoni's.  They said it wasn't allowed.

There are loopholes to get around the quarantine outside of Manila, My relative a kano has gotten a business pass and let's him escape quarantine in his area .  Don't know of any loopholes to escape the 14 day upon arrival quarantine in Manila.  "Quarantine in the Philippines" sounds like a name of a song to me
