I made a mistake by filling in the wrong dates that I was staying in China. I worked remotely in Taiwan for the company for 5 months. After that, I moved to Beijing and work for 4 months. In total it was a 4-month stay in Beijing. To clarify the mistake, I have attached travel record to prove that I didn't stay in Beijing over 6 months.  I may not be able to get a police certificate from China since it was a 4-month short stay. I have sent inquiry to ASK NVC. They told me to see message from Ceac. Then, I submitted my travel record and my explanation through CEAC. NVC said I have to resubmit an acceptable pcc.  It seems like they didn't read my writings at all.  What can I do to correct my record or to delete the police certificate ?

There is a delete button doc button below. Is it a good idea to delete the doc ? Will they reject my visa if I delete the doc ?

Sorry this happened to you.  My spouse resided in China for seven months about a decade ago.  CEAC seems to ask for police certificate regardless of how long you stayed in a certain country.  As long as you did not reside in China for a year or more, you do not have to submit a police certificate, because it looks like you do not currently reside there and are not a Chinese national.

I explained this in a letter, and I also wrote that due to the coronavirus situation, my spouse would not be able to travel to China even if she wanted to get the certificate and she does not have the necessary documents to request a certificate because she resided there so long ago.  I submitted the letter in lieu of the certificate, and I was Documentarily Qualified about a week after I submitted all my documents.

Did you submit your explanation as a Comment to your travel record document or as a letter attached to your travel record?

It's probably fine to delete the doc and submit a new document.  Or choose Replace Doc since it says "Please replace this with an acceptable police..."

Thanks for your answer. I am glad that it works for you. You gave me some hopes!
I am a Taiwanese and I lived in Beijing only for work for 4 months. As I know, there is no way that I can get police certificate from China.

Can you tell me where did you sent your explanation letter ?

I have tried sending letter attached to my travel record via ASK NVC (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html) first. But I got an email back telling me to read the message in CEAC system. After that, I submitted my travel doc in the police certificate (China) column and submitted my explanation as comment in CEAC system. After two weeks, I got a response note saying“ Please replace this with as acceptable police…” as the screenshot above.

It looks like they didn’t read my letter nor comment. I don’t know what to do next to contact them. Should I resend the letter again via ASK NVC? Or should I call them ?

I would not bother sending anything through Ask NVC . I would just replace your current police certificate document with your letter explaining the situation. And append the travel record to the end of your letter (as one PDF).

This is what I did.

Thank you so much !
I redid what you have done and submitted again.
Hoping to hear from them very soon!
