Ok this doesn't relate to the visa per se but I had to thank whoever it was that suggested the English Toffee Cappuccino from Tim Horton's. I saw it on a thread here last week before I went to Kelowna, BC to visit my fiance. I think I had two of them a day while I was there. Now I will be going through withdrawals. :P

He wants to buy a case of coffee before we move him down in the Fall..... :P

Thought I would let ya know that you can buy Tim's coffee on ebay, it's a little more $ than buying it in Canada. Some guy from New York state sells it on there by the can or case. There is also a couple of Canadian food web sites that sells it as well, but the final price with shipping was cheaper on ebay. We bought a case a couple of months ago after running out...not as good as the real thing brewed at the store, but better than anything I can find in these parts. Funny thing, my american hubby was actually more excited to get it than I was! I do wish they made 18% coffee cream here, makes the coffee taste so much better, half and half just doesn't quite cut it :crying:

Cheers :D

Try using "light cream" it is amost the same as the coffee cream we buy here in Canada

Char

Yeah I use light cream here, but it's not as good as its's higher fat cousin coffe cream. Of course I was one of those horrid Tims customers that liked their mix "just right" LOL.

Donairs...donairs....oh how I miss donairs! Not to mention the slice of donair pizza at 3am after a night on the town  . Where the heck is my AP? :crying: .

AAHHHH, Why is there not more Timmies in the world. I was in Brandon yesterday and was going to stop in on my way out.

The place was total MAYHAM!!!! Went to go inside and there was a line up outside the door, It was so packed inside and there were people sitting in their vehicles outside casually sipping on their db db's. The drive thru was even worse as the line up was spilling out into the malls main parking lot causing a traffice jam in the rest of the parking lots.

What the hell is wrong with us Canadians! It's just coffee!

So I sulked all the way home because I didn't bother joining the crazyness.

sriniv, i've had poutine with chicken gravy and it tasted just great :) Although I have been told that real poutine doesn't use gravy at all, it's a brown sauce -- made with what, I am not sure!

Karen....enjoy that English Toffee cappucino!! I've looked up on the Tim Horton's website all about their franchising opportunities, and it looks kinda expensive, but hey, go for it! Georgia isn't too far away for me to drive! ;)

Hmmm....I wonder how a Timmy's would fly down here in the South?

the furthest south they've gone so far is Ashland, Kentucky where there are 2 stores.

I think they're concerned about getting further south, specifically North Carolina because that's Krispy Kreme land, (owned and operated out of Winston-Salem, NC). But now that KK isn't doing so well financially, maybe Timmy's could move in and take over :D

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

Regardless of Krispy Kremes financial position, they will not sink...And no way does the quality of Timmy's donuts(fresh frozen) come close to KK's(fresh), there is no competition there at all. Timmy's intends to double the number of stores in the States within the next three years, giving them eventually 500 stores total. I see most of these stores being Northern states where they will be competing with already established Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. The market in Canada is already saturated, so not much growth potential there either. Tim Horton's is a Canadian icon, and it is highly unlikely to take the US by storm as it has in Canada...but you can always hope and dream!!!

When I worked at Tim Hortons (in Canada) our donuts were not frozen. We made em in the back throughout the day. Same thing with the bagels, croissants, tea biscuits, cookies, etc.

They aren't baked fresh anymore. Most if not all of the TH baked products that can be are processed in Brantford Ontario and shipped out to the various TH locations. The individual stores basically thaw and decorate. That is a far cry from being fresh. Gone are the days.
