Hello Everyone,

I was hoping someone could help me with an issue I keep running into while trying to file my I-751. I filled out the form, added all the required evidence and also a check for $680, but have twice received a 797c saying my case was improperly filed due to "A-Number'. I honestly have no idea what this means. I entered my A-number in the space required on page 1 for my biographical info, its also auto filled on page 11 in the space needed for extra information. My husband has no A-number as he is a US citizen by birth and we have no children. For the corresponding spaces asking for the A-Number of my spouse or children I entered "N/A". There are 9 spaces for A number on the application and each is either filled with mine or N/A. I have also added my A-Number to the check and every page of evidence. What could be the issue?!? Do I also need to add my A-number to the top of each page of the 751 application? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated, time is running out and this rejection due to vague processing errors incredibly stressful.

Thanks in advance for the help!

You leave your spouse A number blank. Don't type anything. It has a matrix barcode at the bottom at every pages so N/A might mess it up and no need to write anything extra on it.

Thank you for your reply. The 1st time I filed I left spouse & children A-Number fields blank, and the 2nd time typed N/A. Both filings were rejected for the same reason "A-Number". Any other suggestions as to where this field may not be completed correctly would be appreciated!

Did you mistakenly check the wrong box regarding your husband's citizenship? Did you choose the option that he has been a citizen since birth? Sometimes a tiny misclick can really mess things up.

Or maybe didn't type the A number correctly?
