We've been twice!

Dave loves it there. I asked the waiter if the sausages were proper english ones, he said he didn't know but his friends parents who have been to England liked them

I had the steak pie the first time, it was OK, bit too many herbs in it for me. Last time I think I had fish & chips which again was OK. They do curry too, I think their menu is on the website.

It wasn't THAT authentic, but it was still a nice meal. The one near us has just closed down for some reason.

OOh that's nice to hear. My mom has said she wants to take us there for our 2 year wedding anniversary next weekend. I was hoping it was a nice place

Its not that great to be honest, I've been there a few times because I used to drive between SC and Baltimore a lot. There's also one in Philly, I believe its a chain. The fish and chips was sub par, but they did at least have a OK pint of their own beer.

The fact its basically in a Holiday Inn doesn't exactly add as a plus for the place. Still if you're desperate for fake English food and beer, I'd certainly give it a try!

I dont know why, but I really dont like British food that much!! And I'm from England!! I could happily live my life never eating another pie, curry (british style or otherwise), fish n chips etc. The only thing that I will want to eat again is good ol english chocolate!!

My hubby is already missing his Irn Bru, Scotch Broth, and full Scottish breakfasts with potato scones hehe So I've proposed one day, we're just going to make a bunch of tatty scones and yorkshire puddings and freeze them for later use, luckily he's down with that. He's already discovered he loves the bread and sausage from the Amish shops though thank heavens lol

Leney, you might be interested (I was) in a advert in the CDT yesterday for a place called the "High Street Pub" in Bellefont I saw yesterday, on the add they list the fact that they apparently have "Bangers and Mash" and "Fish and Chips" on their menu. I haven't checked this place out yet, but if that's their menu then I detect a distinct "British Pub" flavour, that's a lot closer to you than Harrisburg.

If I make it out there I'll report on what I find.

I was actually just reading about that place earlier, it's where Bonfatto's was apparently. Bellefonte is a pretty little town it'll be worth the trip.

Not too bothered by a trip to Harrisburg though either. I work in Harrisburg on Fridays at our head office, so I'm used to the drive, and my mom is in Carlisle so we're down in that area quite often. Definitely let us know how it is.

The other pub I linked in Pittsburgh has Tennants btw (as you recall our long and silly adventure to find it the horrible pish!)
