Can my wife apply for citizenship independently??

My wife got her green card as my dependent (my case based on employment). She has completed 5 years as permanent resident. Can she apply for citizenship without waiting for me to apply for citizenship as well? Or is it required that I also should apply for citizenship or be a citizen already at the time of my wife’s application?

Just an opinion... I would say YES, that your wife can apply before you. I think this is similar to kids over 21 (?) who got their GCs from their parents. The parents don't need to be USCs in order for these kids to naturalize.

Yes, she can apply independently of you. Once she got her own unconditional green card, she was no longer dependent on you for anything uscis-related.
