Hey guys,

I have been in AP for almost a year now. I applied for a J1, I landed an internship in the U.S.

However, my legal sponsor (who takes care of the paper work for a J1) is saying that they will have to pull out or pull back the request for a J1 because the company has found another intern who has started working there already.

That means, I cannot do the internship anymore and my legal sponsor is forcing me to quit the visa thing.

Will this have any negative consequences on my ESTA and me trying to visit the states normally? I am hella scared that they might save this as "denied visa" or something.

Has anyone had the experience of pulling the request for a visa during AP back or pulling out of the AP? What are the consequences and what do they save about me in their system?

If the sponsor withdraws then the visa will be considered denied. There are only two final outcomes of a visa application - approved or denied. All applications will eventually fall into one of those categories. So you must declare this denial on your ESTA application.

Post history reveals you are Austrian born and raised but parents are from a travel-ban country. Have you visited that country at any time?

My legal sponsor told me that it won't appear as denied but I was skeptical which is why I am asking this here :)

I haven't visited the banned country ever in my entire life time. I was in the US however last year for a few weeks (where I needed to respond to a bunch of questions at the point of entry as well ..)
