Re: US embassy in Pakistan

hi, does anyone have experience with US spouses accompanying an applicant to interview for B2? Is it allowed? I’d like for my husband to visit the US briefly again as a tourist in the winter while we are still waiting for our I130 to go through for consular processing. One idea was for me to visit him and the family again and to attend the interview if it’ll help. Any insight on our chances of getting this visa will be appreciated.

It wont help at all, the situation is spiny already as you are filling an application and trying to prove non-immigrant intent at the interview while on the other side you have an ongoing process saying the opposite. It is not absolutely imposible but is an uphill battle that just a few survive with good results.

Has he ever had a Tourist visa before?

I read your post again and noticed that you said visit the US *again* so I will assume that yes...he had a Tourist visa before. Not a new escenario but if he used that visa in a good way before and was not too long ago that could give him an extra half point *maybe*.

Good Luck!

Thank you all! Yeah he had two previous NIVs in the past 5 years (J and F) with no status violations. We’re looking to complete the IV processing abroad as AOS will take way too long in my jurisdiction. For now, as he isn’t ready yet to immigrate, his visit will be temporary. We’ll see how it goes.

What do you mean?  If you’re married, he won’t need to AOS.  If you’re looking for him to enter the US with plans to adjust, that’s fraud.
