Man I think I just made things take longer I hope not.

I have moved and I am 30 days and waiting on my NOA2 and just changed the address on line today. I would have got my mail due to mail forwarding to my new address anyway but I changed it on line today with VSC. Now I am wondering if I just added more time to my wait since I just did this before NOA2 approval. They said they will let notify me about address change in 45 days. Hell I was hoping to have my NOA2 before that. Any one have any experience on address changes before getting there NOA2?

you'll be fine. you'll still get (hopefully) email notification anyway. even if the hardcopy is slow to arrive, it won't slow the whole process down - your petition goes out to NVC automatically - you don't need to have the NOA2 for it to go.

Yes maybe so but for AOS he will need the NOA2, so as long as it does arrive.... However, If I am not mistaken, the USPS will not forward the letter in the event the change of address didn't get processed.

YMMV

But a change-of-address glitch does seem to be one reason that USCIS will re-generate an NOA2 without charging you for doing so (see other threads on the May 3 NOA2-ers not getting their hard copies, for the most part).

I think it falls under crossing-that-bridge-when-he-comes-to-it. He's already changed his address. Changing it back would be foolish and couse 2x the paperwork concerns. So wait it out. That's the only thing to do. And know that it won't slow you down. AOS and the hard copy are things to be corrected later. (for me, things will be less stressful with my S.O. here)

Also - a CSC operator on the phone two days ago said to me that they are SUPPOSED to accept printouts of the online notification in place of an NOA2. This may not be the case - or the way he said it, some AOS people seem to not accept it, even though they should. So I can't confirm or dispute this as an option. But there's the information I was given.
