Hello people!!

Let me recount my experience, so you can give me your best advice...

We submitted our AOS, EAD & AP on December 05, everything went just peachy keen until we got an REF on our AOS for the Affidavit of Support, we responded inmediately and my biometrics letter was received in January. Got biometrics done in Pittsburgh on February 7th, not a single problem with that either. Its here when I start to get a lil antsy, cause most people are "touched" after biometrics, we have nothing. So, a couple of weeks ago, we went to our District Office, and got the walk in EAD, people here in Pittsburgh are really nice, and helpful. I got my EAD and started working, this "interim" EAD which supposedly is valid for 8 months, is actually valid for 5 months for me (they count the 8 months from the day your I-94 is expired). Anyhoo, I know I got the EAD before the 90 days (just like a week or so short of), but still my case hasnt been touched.

What do you reccomend?? should I make another infopass and go to my District office? I've tried calling the missinformation line, but it's bloody difficult to get a real person to talk to. What is the next step?? I saw a few months ago that someone posted email addresses for the Service Centers, I cant find the post (it was the old forum). Anyone has the email addy's for the MSC????

I am working now, and I am loving my job, it implies travelling overseas (which I wont be able to do until I get the AP), they have been very patient, but I am worried about having to stop working in August if my paperwork doesnt come thru!... Help!!!

So I'm clear: you haven't received any updates on your EAD/AP in over 90 days from the time of your biometrics appointment? Or from the time you filed overall? Your timeline makes it sorta clear, but.

If your case file hasn't been updated from the biometrics, that can be somewhat uncommon I gather. My USCIS file was updated pretty swiftly after biometrics -- concurrent with issuing the EAD and the AP. If you are finding that there's been no change after a fairly significant period of time, say a month, then perhaps you should make an Infopass appointment to speak directly with an officer for information. They seem to be much more reliable than the USCIS line.

Thanks...

It just so upsetting, and I dont know if there are other people in the same situation. But it's so stressing for me to think that I might have to stop working because I didnt make the correct steps to expedite my paperwork.

I will make an infopass and try to obtain more information.

Thanks again.

Finally yesterday my husband after waiting for 40 minutes on the phone got to talk to someone at the USCIS phone line, they said they were working in the case, that they are processing cases right now with receipt dates of late december to mid january, and that we should hear something from them in a couple of weeks. If not to call a month from yesterday.

It is not really convincing, but it's what we have right now. So I guess I'll wait a couple of weeks to start freaking out again.

Yeah, you are right. Waiting for your immigration stuff is so upsetting. On my case.....my husband have to take day off at work just to go to Atlanta for the infopass appoinment for my EAD last March 13, 2006. When we got there it found out that my case was already approved Jan. 31 , 2006. Huh? what the heck?

Anyway, good luck to you. Hopefully you'll get your EAD soon.

Regards,

Rab

Claudeth's AOS was only touched at the biometrics schedule and then nothing for about 3 months. All of a sudden the petition was transferred to California and a couple of weeks later she was approved. Hopefully you will experience the same. Good luck

We haven't heard anything regarding Liam's EAD or AOS either. Today is day 91 since the EAD application was filed as "received" at the MSC.

We made an INFOPASS appointment for next Wednesday to (hopefully) obtain an Interim EAD as Liam's lost at least 6 opportunities for employment in his field since he's been here waiting on an answer.

I'm hoping we get an approval before next week, as the West Palm Beach area office can be tough to deal with (previous experience noted) but hoping for the best.

Good luck, and keep us up to date.

We will do the same.

Kind Regards!

Lynn and Liam
