Admin Processing because visa for visa number has run out

I had my embassy interview for EB-2 visa 2 weeks ago and I was given the white slip. The consul told me they have run out of visas for my visa number and they will call me in October, which will be the start of the new fiscal year. Has anyone ever experienced this?

That's a little strange, but this is the last month of the fiscal year, so it is possible that they do run out of visa numbers for EB2. No worry, the new FY starts in October and there will be plenty of visa numbers.

did the consular officer told you in person that they have run out of visas? when did you attend your interview ?
Many people on administrative processing are perceiving the same said thing on their own but if what you are saying is true then it is a positive thing and could be very much true.

Im just worried this is going to drag for weeks or months, since there is an annual numerical limit for my visa type. Hopefully i get a call from the embassy next month.

I don't think it will be too long. As mentioned, Oct 1st comes, there will be plenty of visa numbers.

Yes, the officer did tell me. Running out of visa sounded ridiculous to me at that moment so I had to clarify. He explained it to me again.
