How do we get our case number from the NVC?

I thought we just need to wait for the NVC to send the case to the embassy and then pay all the necessary fees before the interview... can some please clarify this stage. I already have my case number. Also what fees need to be paid? I reading on the CEAC website you have to pay the AoS fee as well...

I already have my case number. I’m calling next week to see if I’ve been assigned an interview date. 

So right now I guess I gota wait on the package from the embassy with next steps...

Calling who?  Consulate does not assign interviews.  Applicant driven

The NVC to see if they have forwarded my case to the embassy so I can set up my interview appointment

If ceac system is back up, you can check much more easily there.  NVC ships every other Tuesday/ Wednesday

You got your case file number, then check CEAC for READY status, that would mean your case file is at the embassy

I have my case number but they never gave me an invoice number and I didn’t know I had to ask for it... I can just call them to get it, right..??

K-1 does use the invoice number.

does anyone have success calling nvc to get case number for k1, its been 40 days since we recieved NOA 2 we call all the time and always put on hold was on hold tonight for 2.5 hours never got through so gave up and yesterdaya and day before  for over a hour each time but finally hung up...     says best to try when they open but problem is i cant go to work to sit on phone for 2 hours waiting lol

Maybe get your partner to call... they are in a better position time wise to reach them.
