Do I (petitioner) need to prove my employment history for Fiance Visa (I-129F)

Hi all,

I (petitioner, US Citizen) have been unemployed traveling for the past 2 years where I met my fiance (beneficiary), and can't find all the evidence of the jobs worked for the 3 years before that where I was studying at university so I only have summer employment. Form I-129F is asking for my employment history for the past 5 years and I can fill it in but I cannot prove it. I have my father and sister who are both on their own capable and willing to co-sponsor my fiance (beneficiary) for a visa and greencard. 

 

Should I be worried about this?

Will me being unemployed or my employment history be a factor in my application if my beneficiary is being co-sponsored by my family members instead of me?

No, you don't need to provide evidence of your work history with the I-129F.

 

Once you get to the I-134 (for the interview), then your current income/assets come into play, and/or that of your your co sponsor.

The CO will make a decision on the public charge risk based upon the totality of the circumstances. Some COs are more willing to look at co sponsors than others.

If you are employed at the time the I-134 is presented, all the better.
