Hi Ninna, I guess am facing the same  your husband. My interview was June 20th and I passed in civic exam. It's been 5 months since the last update to my status and still showing we scheduled your interview. Any update regarding your husband case?

Whoa. 5 months is quite a wait. Sorry about that. Two questions, though:

  1. What's your nationality?
  2. Did you get a Notice of Examination Results (Form N-652) from the officer after the interview?

Jordanian. No I did not receive Notice of Examination but they request additional documents and I mailed them everything they ask for.  Still no changes in my status. I mailed them the additional documents they ask for in July 22.

Ah. You made it sound like they'd approved your application. Still, no response since July 22 is worrisome. But people from countries like yours are seeing lengthy delays (most likely because of security checks). What kinds of documents were requested in the RFE?

Hi! My husbands case status stayed on “we scheduled your interview also. One month after his interview we received a “notice of continuance” they wanted him to sign and date a copy of the oath of allegiance. I guess his signature was not readable or somthing. So once he signed and dated it I express mailed it back to them and exactly one week later  his case status updated to his oath ceremony. During the interview the immigration officer told him it can take from 30-60 days to schedule the oath so Sometimes it goes to a supervisor for review before they schedule it. Hang in there it shouldn’t be long! If u were recommended for approval during the interview then it is just a matter of time.

I also had my interview September 10th 2019 and the officer verbally approved. However, as of today July 24th 2020 the case status still shows "interview scheduled". I had requested a name change (just adding a middle name. First and last name remain the same) not sure if that is the cause of the delay. Please advise

I had my Citizenship interview last week, Tuesday, September 10th, 2019 I passed the test, and the officer has recommended my application for approval. My online account has been not updated and still shows the same “We scheduled your interview.”

Please advise.

That's a very long delay. Have you requested a Senator or Congressperson inquire about what's happening?

No I haven't. Called USCIS yesterday, they said the status is different on their end. It shows "on hold" since November 12th 2019, two months after I passed the interview. They told me to wait 30 days and call back if I don't receive updates so they can research further.

That's interesting. I've heard 'Background check' before, but not just 'on hold'. Was that a T2 person you spoke to?

I know very little about this. But I read in the forums that there is obligation by law that USCIS cannot hold the application too long (120 days perhaps shorter--do not recall). After that time, you can officially demand an answer (or even sue ). The other thing I have heard of is ombudsman who can take a look at your case. Not sure what a good advice is, but just putting the information out there, probably starting with phone calls, and congressperson is a logical start, and ombudsman as the last resort.  Good luck!

Yes, you can sue them for an answer after 120 days from the interview, but it's expensive if using a lawyer (around $6,000).

Agree, your first action should be congress-person help, then ombudsman.

I'm currently on day 160 after the interview, and am waiting to hear back from my Senators office.

I waited 9 month  for respond ,after I send a complain to ombudsman my application was approved the next day .

Wow, that was a good result. I'll go to the ombudsman if the Senators office doesn't produce any results.

Any tips for dealing with the ombudsman to get a good result like you did?

It's frustrating. One thing is that the last 4 month everything has been almost shot down. I hope you hear back soon!
