Hi... Since I am on B2 and did married in less than 2 months after entering and was so blindly in that step, and we did not bother to do some reaserch on rules of Immigration. We have AOS interview in july at local office. My wife is confident that we will get thru this interview. But I am skeptical as they will consider my case as visa fraud!! Any idea... what will happen to me if they dont approve my AOS petition at interview time considering me as fraud???

Will they detain me and send me back to India? or

Dont say anything and call me back for 2nd interview?

Plz guys... share ur knowledge on this type of case and local office detention methods??? I am really worried... :help:

Did you enter the US planning to get married and remain and file for AOS????

If you did you may want to talk to a good immigration lawyer before you go for interview.... if you did not and you met and married your wife on the spur of the moment the you should be ok... but you may still want to go over your case with an immigration lawyer....

If you were denied at interview you would need a lawyer to help you sort it out.... you would not be detained there and then... you would be given time to leave the country...

Thanks Niagaenola.

So, basically they will give me time even if they decide against me..

I came here to attend an wedding and ended up marrying the sister of the bride. This family is close to mine since ages.

We didnt speak to any attorney. We filed so far everything on our own.

What are the odds for my case? I had my return ticket but I sent it back to my country for cancellation so that we get some bucks. And I have the postal parcel reciepts of all my certificates including birth cert which my folks in India posted to me after my wedding here. If I had a plan of immigration I would never buy a return ticket and would have got all my luggage with me. I am facing so many problems after I decided to get married here on B2, not working becoz no work permit and stay home and study idly and no fols of mine... I am going thru a rough time.. not only these things.. but immigration is taking our nerves...

I hope we will have our thing approved...

What are the chances that my case get approved in one attempt? Will they call me for second interview if they suspect something?

If u don mind can u plz elaborate ur experience at Local office for AOS interview plz.........

Thanks and Good luck.

Calm. You never got any RFE, and anything questionable, you got your EAD already. You knew each other before, but didn't planed to get married until you got here and -it happened. If you can prove you didn't come here with your luggage and intentions of AOS (as you said about birth certificate) you will be ok. I really wish you will be ok.

P.S. I don't have big belief in attorney help. Make search in VJ about similar cases. And contact them how they prepared for their interview.

Thanks Ieva and Carl. I am relieved and bit relaxed now. We can only pray and rest of the things are in God's hands... I am looking forward to hear from people who have had similar experience.
