Well we are getting much needed rain here! Hopefully there isn't a lot of damage done from wind gusts or tornadoes.

Just checking on Tampa Bay area ppl and others on the coast. It's headed right towards us. Have a safe day!

Wish it were heading more northerly - we are in such severe drought here in Georgia because last year none of the hurricanes which usually provide a good portion of our summer rainfall made it ashore - we could really use the rain. Barry seems to be cutting across Florida and heading almost directly up the Eastern Coast, which could use rainfall as well, but sure wish it would head inland more. Most hurricanes that do come ashore and head into Georgia are usually tropical storms by the time they reach us so while there is wind damage and flooding, their biggest impact is rain.

BTW - here is a really useful site to bookmark if you are interested in all of the up to date information about tropical weather, including Tropical Storms and Hurricanes: www.crownweather.com. Click on Tropical Weather Update and it consolidates in one site news and meterological information - including advisories - from a variety of resources. Very useful indeed.

The lack of hurricanes and tropical storms last year really dried up FL. I hope they get some rain.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Yesterday was fine. It did rain most of the day, but in the evening it was just drizzling. We didn't have any flooding around our area. There was some wind(I'm north of Pasco) but not much. We even had some sunny parts in the day.

we're also getting some much needed rain here in western North Carolina. We hadnt had any rain to speak of for several weeks, and our river was so low you could walk across and not get wet!

It started last night sometime, and is still raining now. My dogs will be mucky today, but I can live with that, as long as my garden is watered! I just wish we had a rain barrel or two to store some, in case we don't get any again for a while.

we need rain damnit!

Still nothing over there? I heard that parts of FL are looking at the tap water to dry up pretty soon where they'll have to rely on bottled water for everything. What a mess...

Well it's not quite that bad here, thank God!

It has rained a little in the past few days so it's not necessarily a drought yet, but it's still dry and we could use lots more. Not Barry-more mind you...LOL barrymore, I made a funny

Gah I'm going insane today.

Ironically, today is LOVELY. It's not too hot, quite a cool-ish breeze, and not a cloud in the sky. Perfect beach weather, and I'm stuck in my office :(
