Hi everyone,

 

I am a US citizen and my parents are going to visit me for the first time in the USA for a week and will want to apply for ESTA soon.

 

As they are not so fluent in English I was wondering if it was possible and legal for me to fill out their ESTA application and pay for it here online in the States or if they have to do this manually themselves ?

 

 

I would appreciate any help !

The ESTA application site is available in every official language of the countries that participate in the VWP. Also you now have to upload the passport picture page into the application page. That would he difficult if you don’t have the passports in front of you. 

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

 

Now a US citizen!

Yes,  you're allowed to do it on behalf of someone else. You can read about it in the ESTA website. I had it done for my brother about a year ago because for some very odd reason he couldn't get the website to work either from his house/internet or our parent's house/internet. Something was blocking it. So I just did it and sent him the confirmation.

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017

ROC: 04-22-2019 - 04-22-2020
Naturalization: 05-01-2020 - 03-16-2021

U.S. passport: 03-30-2021 - 05-08-2021
