Maybe it's a bit stupid, but putting together the proof of relationship for our CR1 and wondering if it's better to write the captions in first or 3rd person.

Thanks!

I assume you mean for photos?  No need to get cutesy.  Stick to names and dates only.

We wrote every thing in 1st person. Later. When we were in administrative processing, the Senator, Congress representative and I wrote in the 3rd person. Many of my arguments were normative at that point. We just received standard responses. Then, I wrote a passionate letter in the first person that got their attention (though I again presented normative statements). This letter led to action on their end. I am not sure if 1st person voice had anything to do with it. However, the onus of proof is on those in the relationship. Thus, first-person is logical.

Must say, I do enjoy the grammatically correct direction this thread is taking!

OK, it’s evidence, not proof. Until USCIS and the consular officers develop the ability to read minds, nothing can be proven.

And I hope you are not relying on photos as your main source of evidence? I’d pay more attention to gathering stronger evidence than worrying about the captions.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Yes we have more than just photos we're relying on, but I'd like to caption everything so it's explicit as to what it is -  it makes me feel better to caption everything
