Just wondering if there are any other couples here that have gone through the DORA program in Oklahoma City for their AOS prior to my date of filing and interview on March 21st/07? Just curious about your timelines as I see people in the Dallas area going through DORA and having their Green Cards in some as quick as 60 to 70 days. I am sitting at day 73 today and haven't had a touch or anything at all since day 40 whichi was just two days after my biometrics appt. Just getting a little anxious.........can you tell?

Cheers,

We just completed our initial DORA infopass and AOS interview on 6/7/2007.

With about 2 weeks left in your 90 day schedule, I hope you hear something soon! Shouldn't you get a letter around day 75 if the USCIS deteremines it can't make it's deadline?

I know that we were told to expect a little longer wait due to the price increases and everyone rushing to complete it before the deadline. (hehe...Hard to fault folks for wanting to save $600+.....just to wait like the rest of us!)

Good Luck, Susan and Mike!!!

Yes...... you are supposed to get a 70 day letter if they can't finish your case within the 90 day timeframe so that you can go in and apply for your EAD and AP. I have heard of so many screw ups with this whole process that I really don't believe something till I see it. I haven't had a touch or anything since a few days after my biometrics appt so I'm not really sure what is happening. There doesn't seem to be many people on here that have gone through DORA in OKC so I have no other timelines to compare things to. If there are others they aren't posting about it. Keep posting your timeline....... maybe it can be of help to others that file after you. Much success in your journey also.

I filed my AOS on Feb 14, 2007 ... haven't heard anything. I went in on our 90 days to check the status and file for our EAD. My husband has his BIO's for the EAD tomorrow. I am hoping that he will be able to work by August, prefer to have the greencard but won't count on anything (specially dealing w/INS)

Did you get the "70 day letter"? So if I have this right you filed for EAD at the office in Oklahoma City and not through the mail to the Chicago box #. I was under the understanding that when you come back in to file for EAD and AP after all ready having waited 90 days that they approve it the same day and you would get your cards in about a week to 10 days. Obviously if you are just going in tomorrow for your Biometrics appt they didn't approve it right away. It really ticks me off when they tell you in the beginning not to file for EAD and AP with the DORA program..... wait for 3 months then have to wait for another 3 months....maybe longer. I could have had my EAD and AP by now.....I am not handling this well sitting around not being able to do anything.....it's like you have no identity. I have an infopass appt for next Friday, June 29th...... I am starting to think it might just be a waste of time driving to Oklahoma City for it.....they probably won't do anything anyway. How were they when you went back in on your 90 days? Did they give you any time frame? This whole things sucks big time!

No I NEVER received a 70 day letter. I just made an infopass appt. after 90 days of nothing. I filed the EAD online and then got a letter to come in and do the BIO's (again). I am SICK of waiting. I wish I would have filed my EAD at the time of the AOS ... I could REALLY use a 2nd income!!

They did not give me any time frame when I went back in ... they said we are still in security clearence! Let me know what they tell you!!

Hi

I am not in Oklahoma, but in Dallas. I have EXACTLY the same problem as you. Tomorrow, the 28th, I have my second appointment after 92 days to ask what is happening with my case. I just have read what you have written about your second appointment and it is certainly discouraging. If they tell me nothing I have to think about sending the application for EAD.

Furthermore, my K-1 visa expires at August the 6th, so I don't want to think what would happen if I don't have my GreenCard by then.

Tomorrow I am going to write a post about my appointment.

HI!!

Finally I had the interview this morning.

Well, one good and one bad news. The good one is that they checked my case just 10 days ago, so everything is correct and it is only a question of time.

The bad thing is that no one knows how long this time will be, so I only can wait and wait. After that, I decided to apply for EAD, even though I know that it probably will be a waste of money, cos in 3 months I will have my GC, but, what else can I do?

Well at least everything checked out OK ... all we can do now is wait! They sure aren't very helpful though.

I've never heard of filing your EAD online..... how did you pay the fees? What was the timeframe from filing online to getting your letter to go in for your Bio's again? Did they give you any idea on how long to get your EAD?

PS....... Just an idea here..... it would be helpful to everyone

on here if you do your timeline after your signature.

There is a place to file online on the USCIS website ... I paid my 180$ with my credit card. About 2 weeks later I received an appt letter to come do my bios (took weeks from the letter)

I haven't been able to figure out how to post my timeline  and I have a computer science degree (imagine that) :help:
