we received our dq email last week from the nvc saying we will be notified of my appointment date. How long does this usually take to receive for London?

Do you mean your interview appointment?  In the uk you schedule your own interview if that’s what you mean?

No. It's not a K1 visa. The NVC will send a specific appointment date/time to her. IR1/CR1 is a spouse visa.

It took us 2 weeks from receiving that email to receiving my interview scheduled email. The interview was scheduled for 3 weeks later (so interview was 5 weeks after receiving the email you have).
