I lived in Denton Texas when I was really young, there wasn't much there then but my mom says they have built it up nicely. My parents still love Texas they back go every year almost.

Texas is one state i will never live in lol.

I don't recall invitin' ya, darlin'.

I agree. I grew up in Essex, being the butt of many an Essex girl joke, having the entire UK nation laughing about my home town. D'ya know what though, I don't actually take it personally. It's life.

It's probably easier now that you're in America, where nobody knows/cares about the reputation of Essex girls.

Now I find it funny. In fact I was joking about it the other day in another thread on here. I have a "new" car. It is a Ford Escort ZX2 (albeit the USA version) . In the early 90s it was THE car that was synonymous with the Essex boy racer. Essex Girl+Ford Escort=Hilarious. :hehe:

Luckily, I kind of escaped actually turning into the full Essex girl stereotype, simply because of my age. The whole Essex Girl/White Stilletto/Handbag thing had passed by the time I was old enough. But I'm still an Essex Girl and I find it humorous. :D

I don't really get the whole Essex Girl thing; it had sort of come and gone before I ever visited the UK for the first time. Sort of like Valley Girls in the USA, I guess.

I grew up in Humble Texas, which sucked. I now live in the Dallas area and I luuuuuurve it here. The shopping's awesome!!!!

You got that right!

Denton is practically a suburb of Dallas these days. I don't think DFW's going to stop until it gets to the Oklahoma border.

24 June 2007: Leaving day/flying to Dallas-Fort Worth
