I got the notice from NVC today....whoo hooo!!!

I rec'd an email on 5/3 that the ap was approved, but never received the snail mail NOA2??? Should I followup as to why?

Wow....we could be married in as little as 8 weeks!! What would really be cool is if we could get his visa in time for our anniversary of our first date, 7/3/05......wishful thinking I'm sure.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

However I must let you know not make plans just yet in setting up a wedding date in 8 weeks unless it is just a religious ceremony and not a legal wedding as Montreal is running about 5 months behind from the time they receive Packet 3 to setting up the K1/K3 Visa interviews.

I was just going to say.... Unless you're going through Vancouver, 8 weeks might be a pipe dream. I'd be planning on closer to 8 months.

you will require your noa2 for the aos stage so yes you'll want to get on that. As far as your interview.....well......<sigh> you may wanna plan for a nice autumn/early winter wedding. 8 weeks is pretty much out of the question at this point. If by some stroke of luck, Montreal can move their backlog along , it could potentially go back to the 2-4 month timeframe......right now i think its not happening.

but anyway .......exciting news about the NVC.....every step feels so good

Thanks to all for the updates on Montreal Interview dates.....a winter wedding is fine with us! My fiancee's Dad is going in for surgery in October in Canada, and we were worried that he would be landlocked in the US...so more realistically we'd be looking at Nov/Dec?

As you know the K1 is a 1 time entry, thus the CDn spouse may not be able to go back to canada to be with his/her father in Canada for the surgery, unless ones gets AP. But one does have 6 months after the interview to activate the visa!! Best of luck

Understood....he's in Kingsville, Ontario and I'm in Detroit; as a truck driver, he's traveling to US daily, so if we don't get the interview before his Dad's surgery, he shouldn't need the AP...either way, we're remaining FLEXIBLE!
