Hi,

I couldn't make it to the original date of my N400 biometrics since I was going on vacation.

As soon as I received the notice in mail, I replied to it stating I'll be away on that week and asked for it to be rescheduled.

It's been nearly a month now and I haven't heard back at all.

I'm starting to worry, what if my mail got lost??  Is it normal for them to take so long to reschedule the biometrics? :(

Thank you all!

That's not always possible to do. I received the notice on a Friday just before I left for my trip on the following Monday, not much I can do on a weekend other than sending the reply back that I can't make it.

the online system still shows up as "we scheduled your biometrics appointment" with the old notice date.

From what I have read, It could take them several weeks to reschedule and mail the new date to you.

In your shoes, I would probably either:
1) give USCIS a call and see if they have an update
or
2) If you have a copy of your biometrics notice, do a walk-in and explain why you missed/couldn't attend the assigned appointment.

Please note that this isn't legal advice... just what I'd do. Good Luck!

Thanks. I will call them today.  I sent a message through the online system too.

Unfortunately to ask for rescheduling, you have to send back the original notice, so I can't even walk in and get it done now without the doc.

It's really my bad luck that it HAD TO arrive right before my trip :(
