Household Size Help (with joint sponsor)

Hey folks.

I realized that many have asked similar questions but I'm still kind of confused so I want to ask based on my specific case to be sure.

I'm a USC and am sponsoring my foreign wife. We have been living abroad, (although I am U.S. domiciled, I just need to include a letter proving my U.S. domicile) and because I have no U.S. income, I need to have a joint sponsor; my sister who is married and lives in the U.S. with her hubby and no kids.

So let's clarify.

My joint sponsor and I both fill out an i864 form.

1. My sister (the JS), her husband, and my foreign wife (who she's sponsoring) make a household size of 3 on HER i864.

2. Myself, and my foreign wife make a household size of 2 on my i864.

Is this correct? I hope I included everything I needed to to explain myself.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Yes the above is correct AS LONG AS the sisters income ALONE is enough to cover household size of 3. If it is enough technically sisters husband does not need to send the 864a, however many officers request one to be sure the spouse knows the financial obligation being undertaken by the other spouse. If it is possible get the 864a from the husband and include it now to avoid any delays. If you do not and one is asked for it will cause a delay.
