Status on CEAC has said Refused for months

Their status on the ceac.state.gov site has been in REFUSED status since September with no Case Status date change since September.

 

We have emailed the embassy, contacted Senator they have given us such a run around. One minute they say case is at field office in Ohio, or Tennessee. Or they are working on it. Or we will expedite. They have sent her husbands passport back then told him to drop off back in September.

 

This petition (I-130) was in AP since interview January 2018.

 

It's like they don't know which way is up. When I read about Refused the explanation says "Refused: Your immigrant visa case is closed. Refer to the letter you received at your interview for more details."

 

Can anyone give some insight or direction. It's like this petition fell in the black hole. Original interview was in 2017. then after medical pass interview January 2018. Here we are 2 years later. Help please.

If the visa was refused on the merits, most likely the Embassy sent the petition back to NVC and then USCIS for revocation. It would take 2-3 years for USCIS to issue a NOIR to the petitioner.

Now the issue since the beginning has been joint sponsor. They have now submitted the 3rd try at this. But when they email the embassy it's always we don;t know when this will be done. It's a template response. No specific info.

 

I personally believe it was sent back in September. So trying to get to the bottom of this all.
