Evidence of marriage plans?

Hi everyone,

When mailing in the 129-F, did anyone include evidence of marriage plans other than the statement of intent to marry? Me and my fiancee really don't have evidence of any of this...some e-mails but nothing like concrete plans. We were just planning on doing something really simple now, so there are no invitations or guest lists or anything of that nature. We mainly discuss this on the phone.

I don't think you need any of that. I didn't submit any plans other than the letter of intent! Good luck on your journey!

They want proof that you met in person in the past 24 months. They don't want any proof of wedding plans.

The letter of intent is what they are after. I mailed my app before I found this site, so not knowing differently, I included the ring receipt (takes a bit of romance out of things!) and some copies of congratulatory cards from his family and mine. I doubt that was necessary, however.

The most important thing is to get the evidence of meeting within the last 2 years right the first time around! That means primary evidence galore and no worries about secondary evidence. So send boarding passes, passport stamps, and any other hard evidence as possible (shared bills if you've lived together, hotel receipts with both your name, or just noting 2 people in a room, etc). Secondary evidence which helps but IS NOT ALONE ENOUGH is photos of you both, etc. Emails or phone bills do nothing for you, so don't sweat them.

Thank you everyone. I guess it looks like we have everything in order then. Should receive her signed forms next week and then can mail them in.

We included a copy of the engagement ring receipt and copies of 'congratulations on the engagement' cards sent by family members.
