Hi,

For those whose interviews were held with the US embassy in Kenya, how long did it take for you to get a CR1 interview appointment from the embassy after the NVC process?

When I went through the process in 2012 for cr1 and 2014 for ir2 it took roughly 2 weeks for interview to be set after case completion and interview itself was in 4 to 6 weeks. Now I am waiting for an interview date for ir5.

Hello Shatra, my name is Terrell. My fiance is from Uganda and we need to schedule an interview in Kenya. We have completed the Ds-160 application but how do I pay for the DS-160 application from America so that we can schedule the medical and the interview? Thank you for your help.

Have you submitted your DS-160? You need to wait for instructions from the embassy then you can register. After you register, you'll have to wait for appointment slots to open up and then select a date. The Embassy will then send you details on how to pay. We paid through M-Pesa. After that is done then you'll login again and select the actual date for the appointment. Then you can go ahead to send an email to IOM and let them know that you would like to schedule an appointment. (You get to choose the dates)They'll send you a form to fill in and confirm the dates .

Yes Calij, we have submitted the DS-160. However, we were given two methods of payment. That's our issue. The bank (Postbank) is only located in Kenya (fiancee in Uganda) or Safaricom MPesa (Kenyan Network sim) not sold in Uganda. How did you guys pay your application fees?

So you need to find or your fiancee needs to find an M-Pesa agent. There are all over. It works just like mobile money.
