hi everyone. this is my first post since i just signed up but am already having way too many questions.. ha

the most important one i have at the moment is this : my fiancee lives in indonesia. she took her passport photos yesterday... on the us gov site it states that the photos should be 2" x 2" of course indo doesnt use inches but cent meters... so her photos came out 4 x 6 cm

now the 2" x 2" comes out to 5.1 x 5.1 cm and im wondering if this will cause a problem if i send in the 4 x6 cm photos

i know, maybe she should just go back and redo them... maybe thats what we will have to do. but has anyone had this problem and any advice (other than doing it correctly) :)

maybe its such a small difference it wont matter... but maybe it will

thanks

Some have gotten RFEs for them and some have not. I recommend following the embassy guidelines.

We used the 1"x2" formated ones for the I-129F paperwork and had no problem.

Get 2"x2" ones done for later for the consulate, and in the case of an RFE from USCIS requesting them for the I-129F

We received an RFE b/c MS's passport photos were not 2"x2". You can take your chances (I did and lost) or send in the right size and not have to worry about it. It's been hit and miss with VJers.

Yeah, thats what my fiancees photos were as well with a blue background. But I had the original digital file so I edited and removed the blue background as well as cropped it to 2x2. Then I took the image and set it up in a file designed for 4x6 photo printing. with is a 2x3 grid of 2x2 photos. Then I took the printed photos and cut it to 2x2.

Yep did the same for my own passport pics, DIY is far cheaper than having them done at Kinkos or somewhere else.
