Hello All,

We checked our tracker last week Wednesday and it shows ready "Ready". We notified Lagos Consular office via email and we were told it has enter their system but they have not received the hard-copy. Hence, we were told that they won't send us anything until they receive the hard-copy. In order to be proactive, we have filled and submitted our DS-160 form and paid for it.

My questions are; Should we go ahead to book appointment for interview, do medical examination and police report?

OR we should wait till when Lagos Consular office notify us that they have received our physical copy (hard copy), send us packet 4 and book us for the interview?

Your advice will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Yes, you go ahead and book an appointment, then medical and police report.

Most of your questions will be answered in the links that I provide below.

https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/K1/LGS_Lagos.pdf

1. Lagos Consulate does not send packet 3. go here for instructions

http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html#k1k2 and here for interview prep kit that's basically your Packet 3. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/nigeria/487468/pdfs/Interview_Prep_Packet_K1-K3_SEP14.pdf

2. Form I-134 and info about visa fees, medicals, police report etc.
3. yes you need to schedule you interview,
4. you can schedule it when your docs are en route to Lagos from NVC just make sure you have enough time to do your medicals and police report in between.
5. you pay at GT bank and keep your receipt and take it to your interview
6. it depends that's Naija but take like 5000 just in case
7. Not for K1
over all the embassy website is a very good place to get all the info you need.

Yes you can track it using ceac.state.gov but not till you have either a case number or a AA# from the DS-160.
