After the DS160

Hi,

Me and my Fiance are at the DS160 stage of the K1 process, we received notice from the NVC that they where sending the case to the embassy in London, i got a letter from London stating they had received it and where starting to work on it,

I filed the DS160 back on February 1st 2019, but when i check it online it says NO status, when i read on the embassy website it says when i file the DS 160 i should schedule the interview and medical exam, ( after i filed the DS160 i do have the confirmation page )

We are kind of lost at this point, do we have to wait until we hear from the embassy before can be proceed, or can i indeed schedule the medical exam and the interview for the embassy, also it mentions about the fee's to be filed, how to be pay these fee's as the embassy website says that information will be on a letter from them.

So yea any advice would be great for anyone who has processed through London recently,

( I just want to note that the date on the I-797 NOA 1 expires on 18-April-2019 will this not be cutting it close )

Thanks

What do you mean by the DS160 has no status? Im not sure what you mean by that, sorry

You can book the medical appointment as soon as you have your case number from NVC & your ACRO police certificate from the UK (have you applied for your ACRO police certificate yet?)

I was linked to this guide on the official London USA Embassy website when I did my K1 last year

I got the letter from the NVC with the LND number on it, and i already have the ARCO police cert, ill make that call tomorrow to get that appointment made,

I know i can pay the medical fee's on the day at the appointment,

When or where do the fees for the intreview/visa get paid, is it online or is that also on the day at the embassy,

For some reason we where under the impression that we had to hear from the embassy before being able to proceed, apparently this is not the case,

Once i get the appointment for the medical should i then schedule the interview or wait for the medical to be completed first, i know they say to leave at least 5 days between them.

Thank you.,

You have to book your interview yourself if your a K1 fiancé visa applicant, theres a standard embassy email that says "you will receive information about an appointment" but that only applies to spousal visas, it is misleading

Make sure your not confusing your DS160 application number with your NVC number, when you mentioned "no status" for the DS160, it sounds like you have searched the DS160 number on CEAC? its the NVC number you search on CEAC

I would suggest calling ASAP to book your medical as London is usually booked weeks in advance

Other London VJ members have said March dates are available for the embassy at present.

I would also suggest leaving 2 weeks between medical & interview as recently they have been receiving people's medicals late & if you get visa approval at your interview, it will be on condition of them receiving the medical results so you may be in administrative processing abit longer.

Your fees for the visa is paid online when you book the interview, see the website link i posted before

No problem :) been there, done this, i understand the confusion

The London sub-forum here on VJ has alot of useful information, have a read! (some out of date but some relevant still)

Also, when you book your medical, they will email you confirmation, some forms & a list of documents to bring, one of those is a Patient Summary from your GP surgery, you should contact your GP ASAP as quite a few of us London VJ'ers had delays/problems in obtaining sucha simple request.

I already have this from my GP, they where great, as soon as i mentioned it to them, they said this could be a pain, but i got my entire printout of vaccinations, from birth to now, i even got the boosters that needed to be safe, some of them are age dependent so if i need them ill get them on the day, as my GP said some of them aren't given to adults, but i have all the major ones listed.

Sounds like you are well prepared! I also made sure i had all the vaccinations before my medical purely because of how much extra they charge per injection, saved some money :D

Your letter of instruction will say to go the London embassy website for the London instructions.

Here is where you start, not the other link you were given. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

Find Step1-4 on the page to see what you are supposed to do. It looks like this

Just another quick question while we are pulling the rest of the information together, under the Required Documents, Evidence of Support ( Affidavit of Support ) it says where these are not required, they can ask, but it gives to different forums, I-864 and the I-134 are these needed, and if so which one, as they ask for different things,

Sorry about all these questions, they just dont explain it all that well on the embassy website.

K VIsa applicants use Form I-134. Spouse visas use I-864 because they are processing for permanent resident status even before their visa interview.  After you marry, you have to apply for adjustment of status (permanent resident status). That application will require the I-864 from you.

London does not make you prove income a bunch of different ways. They don't even insist on a tax return like most in this K1 forum will tell you. But a tax return is an easy proof. Employer letters are good for a London interview too. You don't need anything beyond that.
