Interview booking

Hi,

My case moved to 'in transit' this week which has allowed me to schedule an appointment. I've scheduled one for the next Friday (will re-schedule if case hasn't been 'received' by Tuesday) but have a couple of questions.

1. Is the Packet 3 sent as an email or as a letter? Is this the 'confirmation letter' and does this need to be bought to the embassy at the interview?

2. Does the 'notification of readiness' form still exist? I've seen lots of old references to this but haven't seen where I would complete this.

I may have been a bit optimistic with my progress, so may need to to delay the interview by a week or so.

Thanks for any help.

The letter of instruction (formerly called Packet 3) is a postal letter. The letter is not required at the interview, but the medical clinic asks for it. It includes a copy of the petition, tells that your approved petition has been received, and tells you to apply for the visa. It gives a link for your visa application instructions and the four steps to follow. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/  Review Step 1-4 to make sure you have done everything.

It no longer exists. It was to let the embassy know you had all your documents in hand and were ready for them to assign you an interview date. They no longer assign interviews. Those are done online now by the beneficiary.

Hi,

Medical is booked for tomorrow- on the medical email is says' i require-

  1. A Letter/Email from the embassy/NVC to confirm your case number and visa category.

I have an email from the NVC with case number and visa category, so I hope that will be enough.

So if I don't need a letter for the interview and I have completed my medical then an interview for next Friday may be feasible? (understand the medical results may not have arrived in time).

Ah good! was just checking you had booked it before you have your interview

You need to take your interview confirmation email from the embassy to your interview (on the email will be a set of instructions, have a read through them)

Good luck :)

The clinic accepts that. They need to verify your case number. Do you have the rest of what the clinic needs?

As long as the case arrives and gets routed to the Immigrant Visa Unit in time.

All set for the medical. Passport, ACRO, vaccinations, medical summary, passport photos , medical questionnaire and email from NVC

When the case is changes to 'received' does that mean it has been routed to the Immigrant Visa Unit?

Had interview this morning. All went smoothly, entire process taking 15 min and passed.

Medical hadn't arrived but called them and they're sending it today.

Thanks for all the advice.
