I-485 Ready to schedule an interview / i-131 & i-765 RFE?????

Dear VJ members, I need some guidance.

The status of our form i-485 has been “ready for an interview to be scheduled” since November. Today, though, the visa tracker app and the USCIS website showed that we will be receiving a Request for Initial Evidence in the mail for our i-131 and i-765 forms.

The Adjustment of Status form status hasn’t changed, though.

How could this have happened? How can our documents be ok for an interview to be scheduled but not ok for me to get an authorization to work or travel?

I-485, I-131 and I-756 are 3 different applications. Although you sent them as one, they get separated once USCIS receives the application. If you for example only disclosed 2 passport style photographs, the I-485 might be ready for interview, but the other applications are not complete and you will receive an RFE for that. Wait until the RFE comes in per mail to see what they're missing for those applications.

Thank you for your answer! Yeah, there’s nothing for us to do at this point but wait for the letters to arrive...

It turns out it was a weird RFE: my name on the forms didn’t match the name in USCIS files. I changed my name in occasion of marriage.  Apparently, they missed the name change section in our marriage certificate. I just mailed it again to them, this time highlighted the name change in neon colors, and now the card is being produced.
