Hi,

I am renewing my greencard and have a biometrics appointment next week.  The ACS office is 3 hours from here, which is no problem, except that they are calling for more snow.  I don't think they would close the ACS office because of it, but I would have to drive through the "snow belt" and that could get very nasty.  I don't want to reschedule my appointment but what would happen if the day of my appointment I really can't make it?  Thanks

Alot of people go take their biometrics before the date on their letter and its fine. I wish i had known this when i got my letter as i waited for the day to come. Maybe try to go earlier if the weather is okay now.

Yes -- try for an earlier walk-in with your letter.  If the guard gives you a hard time, explain that you never got a straight answer about weather closures (or about your own inability to make it because of weather) and didn't want to risk being listed as a no-show on your appointment day.  (If you didn't ever ask, then it's true that you never got a straight -- or any kind of -- answer. :P  )

As the 6th anniversary of Mrs. T-B.'s naturalization looms (tomorrow, 1/23), I remain grateful that we lived only about 6 miles from our ASC...

Snow is in the forecast until next Wednesday except for Saturday :( .  Of course...my appointment is on Tuesday.  I'll just have to go and hope for the best.  Thanks for the replies  :)

TBoneTX--when I filed for my K1 visa, the office was in the city I worked in.  So nice to have that office close to home  :)

I missed my biometrics appointment because of the weather.  The office was opened but the weather on the way there was not good.  I will send in my notice to request another appointment, but do I also have to let them know why I couldn't make it?  Thanks.
