Hi All!,

Today, USCIS updated the processing times. Currently, they are processing EAD's with a notice date of Feb. 27, 2007. My notice date was Feb 12th. I already did a service request and an infopass. I am really worried now. There is nothing i can do about it. Any suggestions are welcome. Are they doing background check or what? Thank you.

EAD's take about 90 days for processing. Background checks aren't done for EAD's, only for the AOS. You'll just have to wait. :)

I agree, make an Infopass appointment. That's too much of a wait!

Now you're over 90 days, you should be able to demand that they issue an interim EAD. They don't give them out at the DO any more, but it should give the NBC a kick up the ####### at least to issue either your EAD or an interim one.

Yep thank you.

So I already, went to my local office since it was over 90 days. I have been told that they dont give interim EAD's anymore at local offices. Even, the immigration officer told me that thats why they have backlog at Service Center causing this delay. She finally told me that she will e-mail the Vermont Service center and hopefully I will get my EAD card within 2-3 weeks.

The other funny part is my EAD was transferred to Vermont Service Center for processing. My transfer date is Feb 23. Lets say I take into account this date as the starting date of 90 day period. It still doesnt make sense since Vermont Service Center is processing cases with receipt date of Feb 27th as of may 18th.

It is really stupid to wait and wait without knowing the reasons. My concern was if they are doing some background checks, or lost something or .....

Thank you all for the advises.

Looks like you've done everything you can then I'm afraid.

Odd that they transferred the EAD to Vermont, never heard of that happening before!

EADs should not be dependant on background checks.

Hey Dwish...I hear ya!!!! I applied for my EAD ...26 January , NOA1 2 Feb, its been

"120 days" and I have not been contacted for my Biometrics as of yet!

at 60 days I did an info pass appt...They looked at the file and nothing has been done.

At 90 days,

I called the 800 info line and they just said we will send a message to the California Service

Center. and still "NOTHING"!!!! at this point! They suggested if I don't here anything within

the next 45 day to call back, by this date it will be 15 June!

I am not impressed!

Oh!. Sorry to hear that. We just found out the following page:

http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/editorial_0482.shtm

I think it is a good idea to write here. Please try. It is unbelievable some people get their EAD's within ave. of 75 days and some people have to wait.

And yours is more strange that, you did not have your biometrics. Please call 800 number again, talk to them again. It should make sense at least to one person there.

Good luck. I wish I could do something

There is no point in calling the 0800 number.... there is nothing they can do.... Infopass is the only way you are going to get to talk to an immigration officer....

Kez

I dont like to be picky but you can get connected to an officer when calling the 800 number. I remember after my AOS/EAd checks cleared i called as the case numbers were not working on the online portfolio, the lady on the phone couldnt help me and, much to my shock, connected me to someone she said was an immigration officer.....I am not sure if that is very rare but it did happen.

Not to add any fuel to the fire, it is my understanding from good authority, they (regional offices) certainly can re-stamp your I-94 Work Authorization when you do an info pass, if you have a properly filed EAD pending. My guess is some places are friendlier than others with regards to doing that.

If our EAD is not approved in time I certainly intend to try it.
