Hello Guys!
Las week I finally received the letter scheduling my interview for my green card (AOS  through marriage, with my american wife).

Can you guys, who already passed through this, can help me with:

- What do they usually ask?
- How long does it takes?

- Any other advice?

- If the officer approve me, Do I receive my stamp right away in my passport?

What they ask depends on the circumstances. It's nothing you shouldn't know.

Usually they ask how you met, what you do together, do you work, etc. They also may ask questions from the I-485.

 

How long it takes also varies. My wife's interview last month was 5 minutes. Another's at the same office this month was about an hour. Both were recommended for approval before the end of the interview.

It can take longer if there are more complicating factors, red flags, etc. Or if they do a stokes interview and separate you to ask questions.

 

Be honest and upfront. Don't volunteer information, but don't avoid giving a full answer either.

 

They don't regularly issue the I-551 stamp at the interview anymore.

7/13/2017: Interview: APPROVED!!!

7/19/2017: Visa in hand

8/15/2017: POE
