birth certificate during interview

Hey guys, my lovely husband just realized today that he misplaced his birth certificate. :( :( I was wondering if its an item thats mandatory during interview? Would passport be sufficient to prove his citizenship?


10/26/2017: Priority Date 

11/02/2017: SMS/Email Confirmation at 12:50am ET

11/07/2017: 4 NOA's received in Mail

11/17/2017: Received Biometrics Appointment Letter

11/22/2017: Received Courtesy Letter 

11/29/2017: Biometrics Appointment

12/21/2017: EAD/AP Approval in 56 Days

12/26/2017: Received EAD/AP Approval Letters

12/30/2017: EAD Combo Card Received

08/06/2018: Sent renewal application for EAD/AP (Expiring Dec 2018)

08/10/2018: Email Notice that application was accepted

11/01/2018: Received notification that my interview was scheduled. for December 18, 2018

12/18/2018: Interview Day | Approved on the Spot

12/22/2018: Received Green Card

Adjustment of status interview. He is us citizen
