Hello!

I'm still waiting for my green card interview and the Seattle office is slow. I submitted the AOS at beginning of Sept 2017, received my EAD in Dec 2017.

I submitted the EAD renewal and the receiving date is Aug 09th... but there is no update.

I had a trip planned to go to my home country, flying on Dec 31st, the date is getting closer and I'm afraid the combo card is not going to arrive in time.

I called USCIS and of course I did not get any useful information. I was wondering if making an infopass appointment will help but everytime I try there is no slots open.

At this point, do I have any option to travel? Will it be better just to cancel the trip?

Thank you everyone!

I'd postpone the trip...

Btw is good to someone else from Seattle :) lol I agree they're superslow.

Did you receive an extension letter? AFAIK you supposed to receive an extension letter for 180 days after filing....But maybe  I am wrong

There is no letter that explicitly states that. The receipt notice for the renewal AND the expired EAD (with the same Category) are evidence of valid employment authorization for 180 days: https://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/automatic-employment-authorization-document-ead-extension This does NOT extend the Advance Parole part of the combo card.
