Hi guys,

I have my interview booked in London for December 18. What does everyone think my chances are of getting an earlier cancellation date?

Should I accept defeat and book my ticket to London for my already scheduled date?

Also, if anyone has to cancel their interview please feel free to pm me and let me know if swapping with my date will help you and me :)

My husband kept checking the website where he booked the interview to see if there were any earlier dates but he wasn’t able to find any. I don’t know if it’s possivle to swap dates with someone. Your best bet would be to log on at the same time and see if when they drop their date you can pick it up (idk if that works or not but that would be your best shot). If I were you I’d just wait until December 18th. It will be cheaper in the long run for booking hotels, transport etc than if you happen to get a closer date. Trust me I know the wait is long and agonizing but you’ll be with you SO soon ☺️

I know it sucks :( but odds are even at this point if you do get an earlier interview date you won’t have your visa in hand before Christmas. After the interview if all goes well you’ll have to wait through Administrative Processing (can take days or weeks). I would say to most likely bet on January arrival in the US. On the bright side it will be your last holiday alone ☺️

We paid for the premium shipping for having the visa sent out, is this what you guys did?

everyone pays for the courier service. But quick shipping does not expedite Administrative Processing which is what happens after your interview but before your visa is issued and mailed to you. They do final security checks and go through your info one last time before making a decision. If there are any hits then they take a little extra time (which is why people say not to book flights after an approval at interview DON'T book until visa in hand). AP can take just a couple days (that's how long ours did) or weeks and for some people months (months is usually in more complex cases. London is usually days or weeks). You could get to the US by Christmas but it's gonna be cutting it really close. Congrats on the cancellation on the third though!

Also if you are willing to wait until January to come here I'm sure you would save hundreds and hundreds on flights. But that's just my two cents about it :) good luck!

I was able to get an earlier date for my fiance's interview. We originally had it booked for November 8th but I kept checking the website (about 2-3 times a day, haha) and I was able to snag one for October 24th but considering it's only about 2 weeks till the 18th I would say it's unlikely you'd be able to get one.

It is possible that you'd get your visa back before Christmas with an interview on the 18th but I wouldn't book anything just in case! (Obviously, haha)

When did you have your medical? Sometimes Knightsbridge can take a while to send over results but if you've already had it then you should be good to go for getting approved on the day!
