Hi everyone! im new here in VJ and i need some help. I am currently working here in UAE and my fiance will be filing the petition this coming December. Now, we both want to have the interview in the Philippines ( but i still have 1 year contract in my work here in UAE), is it okay if i stay here in UAE and just go home to the Philippines if i already have my schedule for interview?lastly, is it okay to put in the I-129 form (mailing address section ) my address in the Philippines even if im still here in UAE? will i encounter problem if i do so? any suggestion will be much appreciated. Thank you :)

Is it possible for your fiance to get residency-like status in the Philippines (and you marry, anywhere in the world)? If yes, the way faster* Direct Consular Filing (DCF) option for the CR-1 visa is available. Here is the info from USCIS Manila office, https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/international-offices/philippines-uscis-manila-field-office "Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative" tab:

Quote

Evidence of residency must be submitted with the petition. The evidence you submit must support a determination that you are a resident in the Philippines.

Please Note: Certain pieces of evidence may more strongly support a finding of residency than others. For petitions filed at this field office, you must submit one or more of the following:

  • Resident Alien Card
  • Foreign Property Deed/Rental/Lease

In addition, other evidence of residency may include, but is not limited to:

  • Utility bills
  • Housing lease
  • Work contract or other employment documents
  • Proof of local registration
  • Local bank statements
  • Proof of school enrollment
  • Vehicle registration
  • Valid local driver’s license
  • Tax documents listing an address in the Philippines
  • Passport entry stamp
  • Foreign property deeds or registration (although proof of property ownership in itself, may be insufficient if there is no evidence that the petitioner resides at that property)

With DCF your interview would be at the US Embassy in Manila.

*DCF takes about 4-5 month on average between filing and visa decision.

Your Input Is Appreciated On This VJ Guide Proposal:
