Status changed to ready for interview

We filed my husband's petition for adjustment of status through the K1 visa on August 13th, 2018. Here we are patiently (secretly impatiently) awaiting his EAD so he can finally work and tonight our case status changed to "ready to be scheduled for interview". I obviously haven't got anything in the post yet but is this usually good? Are we looking at getting an interview within a month or so or could it stay on that for a year? We weren't really expecting it to change this quickly. And I'm guessing his EAD/AP won't ever come since they're ready to do an interview?

Yeah, I've been reading through here and it looks like that just means the biometrics are all good and our case is being sent to our local service center. Who knows how long that could take. I hate to break the news to my husband. He's more ignorant to how USCIS works. I do a bit of research more and when he woke me all excited I was a bit hesitant. I told him "baby, don't get to hopeful until we have a letter in the mail from USCIS". He's going crazy not being able to work.

Best wishes and hey if you remember please let me know if you get your interview soon.

Have you checked your local office timelines? That will give you a good timeframe. Also try and look for other people in the same office from previous months so you can try and make some guesstimate.

It will depend, it didn’t take too long for mine to change but there are others waiting for over a year

07/09/2018: ROC packet sent with USPS 2-day priority shipping

07/11/2018: ROC packet delivered to the Vermont Service Center

07/16/2018: NOA1 received by mail with 18 months extension (notice date 7/12 and check cashed)

08/07/2018: Biometrics appointment letter received by mail (notice date 7/27)

08/13/2018: Biometrics appointment at east Hartford, ct

Ours says 13.5-30 months so that isn't to reassuring. I honestly expect our interview to happen around next August or September...hopefully we get lucky and it's sooner. I just really hope his EAD comes through soon.
