Yes. Go to the local registrar and have them make the change. You can ask them to expedite. From what I was told it shouldn’t take more than a month to get the corrected MC but it is the Philippines and there are no schedule guarantees there!

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

It took at least 3 months to get the PSA marriage certificate issued once expedited by the LCR in Daanbantayan, Cebu, for our case at least.

It might have only taken a month if you could go directly to the PSA in Manila to expedite it within that month timeline.

Your mileage may vary on the different islands and provinces. That was after having the local civil registrar go through and correct our documents before they sent it for encoding.

However that was before it ever left the LCR, and normally it takes much longer if you don't expedite it to the point where she was saying it would normally take a year for the PSA certificate to be available.

Having heard about how long it can take to correct the documents for a birth certificate of a Philippine citizen, it's highly a your mileage may vary condition on them correcting the information of a foreign national married to a Philippine citizen, on top of the normal variable timelines in the Philippines.

We were lucky since we got married in Metro Manila and we were able to pick our MC up from PSA in exactly one month from the wedding.
